Hello all, I hope you are well.
This site has not been updated for a while due to changes in the archive footage industry which also means that most of the links to video on this blog no longer work. 😦
I hope you all still enjoy the pictures and some of my comments, this site will remain live as a reference tool but I’m not sure if additional content will be published for the foreseeable future.
All the best! 🙂
Whilst taking a wander through the archive of British Movietone News I found this interesting 1963 news feature on the clock company who maintain Big Ben.
I was so excited about it that I sent an email to the current owner of the company Thwaites and Reed informing him about it, he contacted me saying that they had no idea that the film existed!!

I do a lot of work with video which I usually keep on a separate blog but thought I’d share a couple of things here too.
Here is a showreel I made for Rex features, they are a celebrity photo agency who have recently teamed up with Shutterstock
And this is a British Movietone News showreel that I made for a recent partnership with ITN Source.
Here is a fun clip of Salvador Dali, he is actually wearing a ‘Visnews’ sign around his neck.
Visnews was a news gathering agency established in 1957 by the BBC and was originally called British Commonwealth International Newsfilm Agency (BCINA) before being renamed Visnews in 1962.
It aspired to create independent, world news to be made available across a broad spectrum of news outlets.
Later it was part owned by the BBC, NBC and Reuters, by 1992 it was solely owned by Reuters and renamed Reuters TV.
Annie Lennox has an amazing voice, I once met someone who would pre-record songs for her in a very soulful style for Lennox to emulate. Does that job even have a name? Can anyone help here?
Anyway here she is on the ‘Tube’ a very popular British TV program which I really, really hope will return to the screens.
It launched a lot of careers for the likes of Paula Yates, Jools Holland, Muriel Gray etc etc

I love ‘Lord of the rings’ and everything Tolkien, so when I came across this very rare clip of him at Oxford I nearly jumped out of my seat!
I even visited Oxford recently and stood in the same place as he did in the clip.. sigh.. 🙂

Whilst having a look through the London News Network archive footage library tapes I came across this intriguing clip of ‘Banksy’ from 2003.
He was giving an interview on his latest ‘animal art’ exhibition in Dalston.
Can anyone confirm that this is in fact Banksy?
